Management of acute renal failure in the intensive care unit
Abstract
Acute renal failure is common in the critically ill and, when necessary, is managed with renal replacement therapy. This article focuses on the use of extracorporeal renal support including modality, indications, dosing, anticoagulation, type of replacement fluid and drug dosing.
