Ram Adapa, MD, FRCA, is a Specialist Registrar in Anaesthesia and Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. He trained in anaesthesia and intensive care at the Postgraduate Institute, Chandigarh, India, and Addenbrooke's Hospital. Anthony R Absalom, FRCA, MD, is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. He qualified from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and trained in anaesthesia in East Anglia and Scotland.
