Abstract 

Cardiovascular incidents are a major cause of any morbidity and mortality in the perioperative period. An understanding of their causes and complications, and the management of these incidents is essential for an anaesthetist. Because of aging population with increased co-morbidities and increasing complexity of surgeries, these incidents will continue to need increased awareness on the part of the anaesthetist.
