She qualified from Cambridge University and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, and trained in obstetric medicine at Queen Charlotte's and University College Hospital, London. Her research interests include thromboembolism, hyperemesis gravidarum, connective tissue and cardiac disease in pregnancy
